Aren't there a lot of letters and symbols on your motor oil bottle? Some of these might not be explained, very clearly on the bottle. Do the "S" and "C" stand for "Synthetic" and "Conventional?"

In many ways, the motor oil industry is based on scientific specifications, rather than "easy-to-understand" consumer concepts. A good example of this is the "S" and "C" you might see on a motor oil. There are actually disagreements with what the "S" and "C" mean. Some gear heads think the "S" means "spark" and the "C" means "combustion." Either way, the "S" actually refers to a gasoline engine and the "C" refers to a diesel engine.

You don't need to be an expert on any of these concepts. If gear heads aren't sure of these facts, how can you be sure? Just bring your jalopy on down to our dealership for a quick oil change.
