Toyota teamed up with Clear Channel Outdoor Americas to put up 37 Toyota Mirai billboards across the Los Angeles and San Francisco area for the April 3-to-May 28 period, and they're more than just a visual accolade for the zero-emission, water vapor-dispersing hydrogen fuel cell-equipped curio. The billboards will be veritable catalytic converters, comprising 24,960 square feet of pollution-scrubbing titanium dioxide-coated vinyl surface to turn back the ecological clock on the equivalent of 5,285 vehicles per month worth of nitrogen dioxide (NOx) emissions, the key element comprising acid rain and smog. With proper humidity and airflow, oxygen reacts with the light-activated, energized surface, converting NOx to nitrate and removing it from the air. And Lithia Toyota of Klamath Falls, as resident nature-lovers of Oregon’s "Sunshine City," can certainly get behind that.

As this is tech similar to that of the future-embracing 2017 Toyota Mirai, Toyota put its spec proudly on display at the first Environmental Media Association Impact Summit in Beverly Hills, California, where the eponymous vehicle, wrapped with the titanium dioxide coated vinyl, kept guests breathing easier by purifying the air as they entered.

We hope that the 2017 Toyota Mirai, currently available in California, will appear sometime soon at our 2675 Washburn Way showroom, but in the meantime, we're proud to offer a line of eco-friendly 2016 and 2017 Toyota Prius Super Ultra Low Emission (SULEV) Vehicles with advanced Hybrid Synergy Drive systems, including Prius Two Eco, with long-haul EPA-estimated fuel economy of up to 58 mpg city/53 mpg highway, and Prius v Two, showcasing a competitive 43 mpg city/39 mpg highway. Take a short trip from Altamont, Medford or Grants Pass and visit us for a "greener" test drive today!
