So maybe some of you in Klamath Falls, OR wouldn't think of Toyota as an American car brand. Yes, by definition, they are Japanese, and that's not going to change. However, the United States is full of new Toyota models, and nearly all of them are built in this great nation of ours. With that in mind, Edmunds.com ranked Toyota as one of the most American auto brands today.

How'd they come up with that statement? Well, it's based in hard data. Using the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) information for a percentage of domestically sourced parts, it was determined that many Toyota vehicles rank higher than some traditional American brands.

For example, the Avalon has 80 percent of its parts coming from the U.S. and was also designed, engineered, and built here. Also, the Tacoma, a pickup truck, perhaps a vehicle that is none more American, tied for first with 75 percent domestic parts.

Basically, what we're saying here at Lithia Toyota of Klamath Falls is that just because Toyota has a Japanese name, it doesn't mean they aren't American. The quality product provides us all with the freedom to hit the open road in a reliable and efficient ride. Can't ask for much more than that.
